Rev. Dr. Robin Tanner
Rev. Dr. Robin Tanner believes in social change through spiritual transformation. She is drawn to the mission of Salvation and Social Justice of liberating public policy theologically and her belief that from lament will arise prophecy. Our policy must be informed by prophetic vision. Dr. Tanner’s work is centered in organizing and strategy. She began faith-rooted organizing in seminary, but received her field training in the Moral Monday movement in North Carolina from 2010-2016. Dr. Tanner is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister presently Co-Minister of the Beacon congregation in Summit, NJ. In her work as a pastor for over a decade she experiences the direct connection between pastoral and prophetic ministries. She is informed by a faith emphasizing integrity of action grounded in liberation theology. Dr. Tanner’s doctoral work at the Pacific School of Religion focused on liberating progressive faith communities from chattel theology.
